ARCTIC SNOWY OWLS MAKE THEIR WAY TO BROOKLYN

Two snowy owls were spotted in Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn today as planes depart from nearby John F. Kennedy airport.  Earlier this month, airport authorities shot three snowy owls and now face lawsuits. The Port Authority has revised its policy to catch-and-release snowy owls deemed a threat to aircraft.  An unprecedented number of these arctic creatures have been seen this winter in northern United States.
